As requested, here's the stuff I showed at IFCC émoticône smile
The first part, 'Kyozist', focused on demonstrating how to quickly find ideas that also bring something to the table in terms of gameplay.
The idea was to give myself a brief, as if I would be designing a ship for Elite: Dangerous.
On this, I showed a kitbash technique using Vitaly's bulgarov parts, and keyshot + photoshop, and also how I do quick animations for it in 3dsmax, in order to then put it in engine and try stuff out.
It's basically a transport ship that lures enemies into trying to board them/ steal their cargo and appear defenseless, but then its main engines split from the mainframe and create a warp field to teleport the enemy in ally controlled territory to capture it.
The second part focused on things to keep in mind while creating a concept painting/ illustration and how to build and starting from scratch.
